Gilroy is Eurasian and his family hails from Gilroy, California. Passion for soccer and eagerness to see his motherland brought Gilroy to India at the age of 17 and he struck it big to be a soccer sensation, star attraction at Dempo Goa. The goan fans nicknamed Gilroy “ Paklo” , a goan terminology for Portugese.
Gilroy hung his soccer boots to pursue a professional career that commenced in 1991.
Gilroy spent his formative years with Xerox, investing over 8 years and handled various assignments from a Rookie, to a Global Account Manager, Key Account Business Manager and went on to head the Office Business Group as National Marketing Manager. At Xerox Gilroy with a never fail track record was nicknamed “The American Mercenary.”
Gilroy joined Scholastic India, heading the business function for the country and in the tenure was selected by its ASIA PAC HQ to undergo a MDP, conducted by Franklin Covey Institution, to earn the coveted Graduation Certification in 4 Roles Of Leadership, after completing; The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Gilroy says he is fortunate to be trained and guided by Steven Covey, the Guru himself
Post Scholastic, Gilroy has held senior management positions in companies like Bennett Coleman Company as Associate Vice President-Northern India, Radio Mirchi and India Today Group as Senior Vice President- Radio Today Broadcasting Ltd.
Gilroy prides himself to be the 'number guy' blessed with a thinking mind, a pragmatic thought process with high levels of spiritual quotient.
